Cape Jazz Legends Programme

To achieve some of it's key objectives, MUZO has pioneered the development and branding of the ‘Cape Jazz Legends' Programme' This Programme was designed to conserve the rich musical and cultural heritage of the Cape as well as enhance recognition of and give support to our living legendary jazz artists.

While the Cape is indeed blessed with many legendary artists, MUZO has launched the Programme with three of the Cape ‘s finest Jazz Legends, namely, Errol Dyers, Winston Mankunku and Robbie Jansen. Undoubtedly, the music of the Cape has its roots deep within African/Indigenous Music. With this in mind, we have approached Cape Town's own legendary African/Indigenous Music Educator and Performer, Dizu Plaatjies to ensure that the African/Indigenous Music Component of the Programme is kept alive!

Through a range of projects & activities ranging from performances to master classes under the Cape Jazz Legends Programme, we aim to market and support selected Cape Jazz Legendary Artists.
